The PADD Group is built around decades of experience as builders and construction consultants.
Our experience as builders includes commercial projects—shopping centers, hotels, regional malls, office, aviation, multi-family housing, warehouses, overseas projects, and industrial projects.
Our experience as construction consultants includes owner’s representation, failure & forensic investigation, construction claims preparation, project controls & scheduling, construction & property inspections, water intrusion & building envelope analysis, and repair management. This gives us valuable experience to assess potential investment property with different eyes than many. We utilize our experience to look for indications and warnings not necessarily obvious to most inspectors.
During our time as consultants we have represented Developers, Property Owners, Government Entities, General Contractors, bonding companies, financial institutions, insurers, equity firms, REITs, and Subcontractors.
The PADD Group brings industry experts together for property Acquisition, development and design-build actives. In forming The PADD Group we have narrowed our focus while still maintaining our unique skill set to meet the needs and objectives of stakeholders and partners.

Who We Are
The executive team at PADD Construction brings together over 120 years of combined construction experience. We pride ourselves on our team’s vast construction knowledge, professionalism, and ability to handle all of our client’s needs.
Steve Peklenk
Mr. Peklenk has managed a full discipline engineering concern in the industrial market, including projects overseas. Experience includes business and operations management, accounting and finance, personnel management, and dispute resolution.
Mr. Peklenk holds numerous professional certifications including N.C. General Contractor, S.C. General Contractor, and N.C. Licensed Home Inspector. He is a graduate of Auburn University with a B.S. in Building Construction.
Sheila B. Williams
From an early age Ms. Williams was involved in her family construction business. She has held positions in her career such as Accounting Administrator, Controller and Vice President of Accounting, Corporate Office Manager and Senior Claims Specialist.
Her areas of expertise are commercial construction accounting and finance, forensic accounting, construction claims, accessibility reviews, and project management, and she is a certified mold inspector. Ms. Williams received a B.S. in Accounting from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte.
Carl Duell
Mr. Duell has over 50 years of experience in the construction industry. He has managed over 10.4 Million square feet of shopping centers, hotels, and regional malls. Mr. Duell has investigated construction problems for decades and has put together numerous construction claims.
Mr. Duell studied Civil Engineering at University of Pittsburg giving him extensive technical expertise in construction. In addition to his vast commercial construction experience Mr. Duell also brings years of residential construction experience including single family homes and apartment projects.
